Ideal Standard gives us the keys to creating a conscious bathroom: beautiful and better for the planet
Sustainability has become an essential design principle, and the bathroom is one of the spaces where everyday decisions carry the most measurable environmental impact. Ideal Standard offers solutions that blend contemporary aesthetics with ecological responsibility, proving that both can coexist perfectly.
The new Ceralife tapware, designed by Roberto Palomba and available in chrome or silk black, integrates flow regulators, the durable FirmaFlow® cartridge and Diamatec® brass, reducing water and raw material consumption without sacrificing performance. The Ceratherm shower systems limit flow to just 6 litres per minute through PreciTherm® thermostatic cartridges, EcoStop buttons and CoolBody technology. The Alu+ range, made from recycled aluminium and free from chrome and nickel, completes the offer with a minimalist aesthetic and sustainable finishes.
Regarding materials, UltraFlat Evo shower trays incorporate up to 40% recycled marble through StoneTech™, are fully recyclable and can be repurposed in construction at the end of their lifespan. The i.life O toilets with HydroTwist® technology use just 4.5 litres per flush, below European standards, and their rimless design reduces the need for harsh detergents. As Carina Detjen, Head of Sustainability at the Villeroy & Boch Group, points out, living sustainably can also mean living modernly and comfortably.
