Ceramica Flaminia completes total automation of glazing with SACMI technology

Automatic siphon glazing machine installed to complete the 4.0 glazing and handling line already in operation. The goal? Even better quality and process repeatability to save time, energy and resources. 


Ceramica Flaminia invests in further automation of its glazing department with SACMI technology. Already in operation since 2018, the new 4.0 piece handling and glazing lines supplied by SACMI have now been completed with the installation of a new solution for the automatic siphon glazing of WCs in addition to the previously existing one, thus increasing the productivity of the entire glazing department.

Personalized and configurable according to customer requirements, this solution reduces the need to turn over the piece thus simplifying handling and logistics operations. The system is assisted by the use of two robots, one for handling the WC and the other for carrying out the inside glazing of the siphon thanks to an innovative process that maximizes quality and repeatability, cutting down on waste.

The automatic siphon glazing machine is the latest addition to several other RobotGlaze solutions supplied by SACMI-Gaiotto and already in operation at the Civita Castellana plant. SACMI has also supplied Flaminia in the past with handling cells specially set up to automate handling of pieces as they are transferred from the casting cells to blowing, from firing to glazing without the need for manual operations.

Furthermore, Flaminia has shown its commitment to reducing the impact on the environment of the production process thanks to investments such as the recent purchase of SACMI driers featuring advanced software control for the optimization of drying curves according to the production mix.
