Exhibitor registration opens for Formnext Forum Tokyo 2023

Tokyo is ready to welcome specialists from across the additive manufacturing (AM) industry later this year at Japan’s most focused event for the sector, which will be held from 28 to 29 September at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center Hamamatsucho-Kan. The 2022 edition hosted 65 exhibitors, and 1,180 visitors – a 40% increase from the previous edition. On the back of this rise, Messe Frankfurt Japan is optimistic about another productive event this year.

Launched in 2019 with a clear focus on AM technology and the related process chain from design to the finished product including industrial 3D printing, the event has quickly gained a reputation for attracting leading specialists. “The last edition made one thing clear: for manufacturing professionals, it’s crucial to have an event dedicated exclusively to additive manufacturing, particularly post-covid when many companies are re-evaluating their production processes and supply chains,” says Mr Yasushi Kajiwara, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Japan Ltd. “As the only stand-alone event for AM technology in Japan, Formnext Forum Tokyo attracts a higher calibre of participants each year, with exhibitors in particular noting the quality of visitors. We look forward to another successful event in Tokyo later this year.”

With headwinds such as rising material costs impacting the manufacturing industry not only in Japan but globally, 3D printing is back in the spotlight as a cost effective and agile manufacturing process. In particular, its cost effectiveness for small production runs can unlock potential for manufacturers across a wide variety of industry sectors. Japan continues to be well positioned to benefit from this thanks to the scale of its advanced manufacturing in the automotive, aviation, healthcare and construction industries, to name just a few.

Against this backdrop, Formnext Forum Tokyo’s exclusive focus on specialist AM technology continues to prove popular among exhibitors and trade visitors alike according to the organiser. “This is because it’s not only a place to find the likes of specialist materials and post-processing equipment, but it’s also a destination to have high-level technical discussions with subject matter experts,” explains Mr Kajiwara.

In particular, organiser seminars, exhibitor presentations, and other fringe events are held on both days of the event, offering new insights into processing technology and 3D printing. The 2023 Forum will see experts converge from a wide range of industry sectors, including

  • Solutions for additive manufacturing
  • Materials
  • Manufacturing preparation / Pre-processing
  • Component processing / Surface processing solution / Post processing
  • Contract manufacturing / Design / Product development
  • Tool and die making
  • Software
  • Quality management / Measurement
  • Certification and Standards
  • R&D
  • Organisations and publishing companies.
