Gruppo Sanitari Italia (GSI) installs the third Sacmi AVM

GSI (Gruppo Sanitari Italia) has purchased a new Sacmi AVM machine. Already up and running, this latest unit takes sanitaryware casting a decisive step closer to complete automation. This brings the number of Sacmi RobotCasting solutions at the Gallese (Viterbo) plant to fifteen. These include the two AVMs installed at the beginning of 2022 and the other Sacmi ADM-ADS solutions that were installed to efficiently manage the broad production mix (WCs, washbasins, shower trays, etc.).

The GSI goal is complete automation of the factory, with fewer manual tasks and integration with the supervisor to allow cutting-edge monitoring and tracking. Recent years have seen a sharp acceleration in this strategy, in terms of both the quantity and quality of the installed machine pool.

More specifically, the Sacmi AVM leads the market by providing a mold-focused modular platform that gives customers maximum automation and handling freedom.

Like the two previously supplied machines, the new AVM is used to manufacture complex WCs. As part of the drive towards total automation, the handling robot is equipped with green finishing tools (rim, external part, etc.). The thus-finished article is then automatically loaded onto the car and sent on for glazing.

Connection to the supervisor allows monitoring and optimization of every stage as a function of the specific lot/article being produced. In addition to monitoring performance -productivity, quality, item transit time through the individual processing phases etc.- the system automatically handles any alarms by guiding operators through a proactive troubleshooting process, thus saving time and resources.
