The Corning Museum of Glass Celebrates Bertil Vallien

Kosta Boda is thrilled to announce the exhibition «Passing Through», a celebration of Bertil Vallien at the Corning Museum of Glass, which opened on October 10th. The occasion marks a momentous celebration of Vallien’s remarkable 60-year career and the grand unveiling of this new collection, which is the largest offering of his iconic designs in the US. 

Bertil Vallien’s Captivating Art Glass Lecture 

For the first time in its history, the prestigious Corning Museum of Glass invited a brand, Kosta Boda, to conduct a lecture for over 1,500 people, in the museum’s impressive Amphitheater. The captivating event with Bertil Vallien, together with his son Hampus Vallien, was held live and as well as virtually for remote audiences to watch and engage. 

During the Connected by Glass lecture Bertil’s Chief Assistant, Cecilia Kling, together with Corning’s talented Hot Glass Team, created some of his most famous works on stage. Museum enthusiasts and art glass appreciators around the globe alike were invited to witness Vallien’s mesmerizing artistry as the team crafted glass sculptures live in the Museum’s Amphitheater Hot Shop. 

Spectacular Live Demonstration 

Bertil’s Chief Assistant Cecila, together with the highly skilled team from Corning Museum of Glass, also brought life into his sculptures during a captivating showcase at the Museum’s Amphitheater Hot Shop on Wednesday, October 11th. The event was live-streamed to a global audience, with more than 500 attendees tuning in from across the world. 

Furthermore, as a testament to unwavering dedication and enduring collaboration, Cecila Kling is celebrating an impressive 25-year journey working alongside Bertil within the renowned hotshop team at Kosta Boda. This collaboration showcases their enduring commitment to excellence and innovation in the world of glass art.
