Mondial invests in Sacmi automation. The leading Romanian manufacturer -part of the Villeroy & Boch Group since 1996- has installed the first Sacmi RobotCasting solution for the high-pressure casting of washbasins at its factory in Lugoj (Timisoara).
Up to 8 moulds for washbasins can be installed on the new ALS Sacmi-C module, which has recently been tested and started-up with success. The ALS is the solution devised by Sacmi to produce various types of washbasins and water tanks which can offer a high level of flexibility, reduced cycle times and guaranteed process repeatability. This technology -Mondial chose the “C” machine version, which is the most compact model in the range- is widely recognized for its excellent reliability and has been popular on the market for more than 20 years.
One fundamental factor ensuring the good outcome of this project was the close cooperation between Sacmi and Mondial’s technical team to adapt the machine to the customer’s moulds. This facilitated the implementation of the innovations allowing the solution to operate in the best possible way to fit the customer’s production plans.
Mondial’s investment, backed up by the mother company Villeroy&Boch, is a step in the right direction to improve production standards, with particular attention to quality and increasing automation, in line with other investments made by Villeroy&Boch with Sacmi in its other main production plants in Europe.
