Microtrac: Mitsubishi Steel Japan wins the Quest for the Oldest

Mitsubishi Steel Japan is the grand winner of the Quest for the Oldest organised by Microtrac, with a 9210SRA from January 1993.

This equipment is still at the heart of the action after more than 30 years! For three decades at Mitsubishi, the 9210SRA, diffraction laser instrument operated by Mr Suzuki, has played a crucial role in ensuring that every product meets rigorous pre-shipment quality standards.

“Without this inspection, it would be impossible to ship the products”, Mr Suzuki says.

An impressive reliability: The laser diffraction instrument has never broken down in 30 years. Maintenance has been limited to cleaning and replacing the cell glass. Proof that Microtrac designs solid, durable tools that are ready to take on any challenge.

Customers can achieve exceptional results and continue their innovations without compromise.

At Microtrac they are honoured to award Mitsubishi Steel a SYNC, Particle Size and Shape Analyzer. In line with their competition’s terms, the awarded instrument is a groundbreaking tool in particle characterization. It revolutionizes particle characterization by combining high-precision laser diffraction and dynamic image analysis, for simultaneous, integrated measurement on a single sample. Designed for quality control and research, it offers a detailed analysis of particle size and morphology over an extended range from 0.01 to 4,000 microns. Thanks to its powerful software and BLEND routine, SYNC is an essential tool for advanced particle characterization.

This competition has been an opportunity to rediscover the history of Microtrac instruments through time and worldwide.

Microtrac would like to extend their warmest thanks to everyone who took part in “The Quest for the Oldest”. This contest has allowed the company to discover some fascinating stories, and to better understand how their instruments continue to be used and appreciated over the years. Each story reminds them of the value of precision and reliability in their work, and in the company they are honoured that their instruments are a key element in the users’ success.

Microtrac thank all participants for their enthusiasm and contributions! They hope users will continue to enjoy Microtrac instruments for many years to come.
