Ortoalresa is strengthening its commitment to innovation with the official launch of SmartConnect, a new application designed to remotely monitor laboratory centrifuges from a PC, tablet, or smartphone.
Developed as a practical support tool for everyday laboratory work, SmartConnect provides real-time access to key operating parameters. Users can check the centrifuge status, review usage history, and receive notifications, all via Wi-Fi connectivity.
The application addresses the growing need for improved traceability and equipment monitoring, while also enabling remote supervision in environments where staff cannot always remain physically next to the centrifuge. Its intuitive interface has been designed for straightforward, practical use, integrating seamlessly into existing laboratory workflows without disrupting routine procedures.
In its first phase, the app is available for the Digicen 22, Digicen 22 R, and Cyto 22 models, benchtop centrifuges equipped with TFT displays. Digicen 22 and its refrigerated version, Digicen 22 R, are built for versatile use in clinical and analytical laboratories, while Cyto 22 is specifically tailored for cytological and hematological sample processing, offering an optimal balance between capacity and ease of use.
With this foundation in place, Ortoalresa will expand SmartConnect to new developments within its portfolio. At analytica, the company will present Consul 23, a new high-capacity centrifuge currently under development that will incorporate SmartConnect connectivity along with the REI System (Rotor Easy to Install) for quick and secure rotor exchange. This upcoming model represents the next step in Ortoalresa’s evolution, combining advanced performance, enhanced usability, and integrated digital monitoring capabilities. The app will continue to be progressively introduced across additional TFT-equipped centrifuge models throughout the coming year.
