Faveker.

Faveker. Ventilated facades and fire performance: a comprehensive overview of the system
The design of ventilated facades has established fire performance as a key criterion, evaluating not only individual materials but also the joint response of the envelope against exterior fire propagation. Under this premise, FAVEKER-Gres Aragón voluntarily subjected its ceramic ventilated facade system to a large-scale international test in 2019 in accordance with the NFPA 285 standard. Issued by Thomas Bell-Wright International Consultants, this certification coordinated the evaluation of the cladding, mechanical fixing, metal substructure, rock wool insulation, and cavity fire-stopping.

The safety of the system relies on the interaction of all its components. FAVEKER utilizes vitrified extruded porcelain tile of a mineral nature, classified as A1 (non-combustible) according to the UNE-EN 13501-1 standard. This material provides dimensional stability, zero contribution to fire growth, and high durability.

To mitigate the «chimney effect» and vertical propagation within the air cavity, the system integrates intumescent barriers. Under normal conditions, these remain open to ensure continuous ventilation and the optimal hygrothermal performance of the facade. However, when exposed to heat, they expand to seal the cavity and restrict airflow.

Founded in 1943 and part of the robust SAMCA Group, Gres Aragón-Faveker stands out internationally for its advanced extrusion and porcelain stoneware technology. Its high-efficiency architectural solutions are chosen by renowned architects and exported to around one hundred countries.
